I feel like Colonel Harkins will insist on sending one of my teams into the field soon. A-01 and his team continually perform better than expected in simulations. The Colonel has asked for a formal assessment next week. If they perform well then, they will likely be immediately sent on a mission. If they don’t perform well, the program might be terminated, which means they would be terminated as well.
Honestly, I’m not certain which outcome to hope for. The deeper we progress into the project, the more doubts I have. I definitely shouldn’t be writing this down, but I have no one else I can speak to about it either. I must express it in some way, regardless of the potential consequences, or risk being unable to perform my work. The possibility of death is far preferable to being dismissed for poor performance and all that entails.
